Baptizing your Child

All parents are expected to attend our baptismal preparation program before their child's baptism is celebrated at a liturgy. If you have attended our parish's baptism class for another child within the last five years, then re-attending the baptism class is optional for the current child.
The baptism class is offered in January, May, and September, and typically lasts an hour to an hour and a half. A suggested donation for materials is $20.00. ​We ask parents to register in advance for the class through the Parish Office (319-352-2493), or use the contact form at the bottom of this page.
Parents may schedule a baptism at the conclusion of the preparation program.
Baptisms will be celebrated during a weekend Mass and will normally be limited to two families per Mass. Baptisms are not celebrated during the seasons of Advent and Lent.
