Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

Are you interested in becoming Catholic?
Do you desire to be baptized?  Confirmed?  Receive the Eucharist?
The process of becoming a full member of the Catholic Christian faith is called OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)*

Our approach to OCIA is very flexible.  The Holy Spirit is not on a fixed schedule, and moves in different ways at different times.  We welcome "seekers" into the program at any time of year!

After we get to know you through some personal conversations, we will develop an individualized faith formation plan, tailored to your unique needs and experiences.  You will be paired with a mentor (sponsor) who will walk with you through the process, and together we will help you learn the way of faith
through study, fellowship, worship and witnessing in word and deed.

Throughout the process there will be rites we celebrate with the community to mark certain milestones of your journey.  We’ll work together to help you discern when you’re ready to take these steps.  Finally, we’ll plan a time for you to celebrate the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and First Communion), depending on what’s needed.

*OCIA is also known as RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).

We look forward to meeting you
and making this journey of faith together!

I have questions about the OCIA process.
