The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

What is a catechist?In short:
Someone who teaches, or helps to pass on, the faith. In long: A catechist is someone who provides instruction and guidance in the faith to children and youth so that they can begin to understand and try to live out the teachings of the Catholic Church. A catechist also helps individuals form a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and assists them as they grow in their faith. At St. Mary: A catechist is a teacher of the faith. We provide the material for you to review or prepare the lesson, and you lead our youth through the lesson to help them learn about our faith and God's goodness. Games and activities included! |
