Pastoral Council, Oct 18, 2022
Present:  Elizabeth Amsberry, Leo Beschorner, Michelle Even, Nathan Heitz, Val King, Elaine Lawler, Sandy Risvold, Steve Phyfe, Phil Paladino, Father Doug Wathier
Call to order: Nathan Heitz at 7:00 p.m.  Prayer: Father Doug
Minutes from September 20 meeting reviewed and approved as written.
PHASE 2:
  1. Information meetings after masses on Sunday went well.
  2. As of this week, $472,000 has been raised.
  3. On Tuesday, October 26, we will have an event for all parish leaders so they have the information to address any questions and concerns from members of the parish.
  4. Seventy-three individuals volunteered to be ambassadors and will distribute and collect pledge packets.
  5. A percentage of all revenue for the parish is given to the Diocese. Excluded from this percentage  is any revenue for youth faith formation. Parish needs to clarify the percentage determined by the Diocese for this project as the majority of the building project is for youth faith formation.
  6. We need ½ of the cash in hand and commitment for the total in order to begin the project.
Staffing:
  1. Building and Grounds Manager –
    1. Local individual has expressed interest and has picked up an application.
    2. Interim: lawn care contracted, snow removal of parking lots contracted, volunteers for shoveling sidewalks, and internal cleaning of building being done by current staff.
    3. We recognize and are grateful for the additional tasks taken on by current staff.
  2. Faith Formation positions – no activity at this time.
  3. Positions posted through Archdiocese, electronic job boards for ministry positions, and at colleges.
As there were no further items for discussion, we adjourned at 7:25. Minutes prepared by Val King

 Finance Council –  Oct 18, 2022
Present: Steve Phyfe, Becky David, Kelly Flege, Scott Danner, Fr Doug Wathier. Also present: Deacon Phil Paladino, Dixie Jacobs.
Monthly Financials: Offertory is about $4,500 above budget. Loose offertory is stronger this year with the return of passing the collection basket. Expenses are below budget due to low utility bills and payroll with staff vacancies. Scott made a motion to accept the financials as presented; Kelly seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Bequest Update: No update. We have not received the summary of the 3rd auction.
Phase 2 Building Update:  $472,000 has been raised from the C. Place bequest, memorials, and parishioner gifts. The capital campaign packets will be distributed mid-Nov. The archdiocese is determining the taxa forgiveness percentage based on how much of the addition will be used for children’s faith formation.
Staffing:  Interviews for the building and grounds manager are scheduled for this week.
Nov Meeting: Estate update, Phase 2 update, monthly finances, budgeted withdrawal of endowment.
Meeting adjourned.

Time and talent fair was not very successful. Need to have more interaction with those in attendance. So, how do we recruit new members?
