Pastoral Council Meeting 8 – 21 – 18
Attendees: Michelle Even, Renee Aschbrenner, Ruth Schluter, Jennifer Siech, Mary Ann Hinders, Elaine Lawler, Trent Lockard, Fr. Dave, and Dan Dufner from Finance Committee.
May 5, 2018 minutes were reviewed and approved.
Jennifer Seich was elected to be the Chair of the committee and Ruth Schluter the Vice-Chair. Renee Aschbrenner will stay on as the secretary.
The council revisited various discussions from the previous spring. The piano was purchased with half of the monies coming from memorials and have from the overages of the budget. There is a bid for the old piano of $4,000, much higher than originally anticipated. The new security cameras have been installed. There are no new developments with the “Twinning” initiative.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd will kick-off on September 16th. The council was able to tour the atriums that will be used for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
There have been some reassignments with the Faith Formation/Youth Ministry roles. Michelle Stone is now considered a half-time position and will focus on Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Julie will coordinate the 5 – 12 grade programs. Father Dave and Deacon Phil will coordinate the adult speakers. There will be two speakers in the fall and two speakers in the spring. The first speaker in the fall will be talking about the environment and stewardship.
The archbishop wants us to move forward with building a rectory on the church grounds. The Finance Committee is in initial stages of discussion about different scenarios that could present themselves.
The parish received an estate gift.
