Is your child going into 2nd grade** this school year? If yes, then it may be time for him or her to prepare to receive the sacraments of first reconciliation and first communion (also known as first Eucharist)!
Preparation consists of 6 parent/student group sessions that take place on Sunday evenings in the winter and spring. Please register your child for faith formation classes as well, as there is first reconciliation and communion preparation integrated into the 2nd grade faith formation classes. Consistent and regular formation is needed for youth to be best prepared for the reception of a sacrament, even more so for them to have a flourishing faith life. This goes beyond formation at church. We encourage you to intentionally bring faith life into your home. If you're not sure where to start, the Archdiocese of Dubuque has many great resources. Reach out to us if you need help! |
"Fruitfulness depends on soil rich in nutrients, the food of life. For no matter how clear the light or gentle the rain, without good roots being properly fed, the seeded plant will eventually die."
(The Soil of the Soul - CatholicMom.com) **If your child is older than 2nd grade and has not received the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion, it is not too late! Fill out your information below, and we will get in contact with you.
