God is with us and we gather together to remind ourselves of what God has done for us. The All-Powerful God contains himself in a child so we may know God is our true source of joy and hope. What a blessing to be able to participate in God’s work.
We have had one heck of a year here at St. Mary and I would like to thank you for your great ministry. It seems like something is going on all the time. I am keeping my article short, because we need some extra room just to list all of our children baptized this year. Here are a few of the great things that have happened this year – paying off our mortgage way early, our first Holy Week Retreat, tackling a Habitat for Humanity house in Waverly….
We also had some difficult turns as well. Unexpectedly, we lost Jace Smith and Jim Sabelka and it simply hurts when you lose people so young. Yet, that is why we come together here as God’s family. We celebrate the joys of life together and we are strong enough to handle our sorrows as well.
St. Mary creates the space to ask our questions and helps us to know more deeply our God who loves us. I look forward to what God has in store for us in the upcoming year. I hope our book, Resisting Happiness, will create some new opportunities to delve into God’s plan for us in an enriching way. May we help each other grow in our faith.
May God bless and keep you in this Christmas season.
Sincerely in Christ,
