St Mary's sacramental policy for confirmation:
The preparation time for the Sacrament of Confirmation is two years. The first year being full participation in Generations of Faith and the second year being the confirmation classes in addition to Generations of Faith. Those wishing to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation MUST attend Generations of Faith one year prior to enrolling in the confirmation classes.
Students are to be 15 years of age by September 15th the year they begin the confirmation classes. For most students, this is their freshman or sophomore year.
Candidates must be registered members of St. Mary’s Parish.
If you meet these requirements, then in August 2011 you will be getting an invitation to begin the confirmation preparation time!! Please make sure that you register for 2011-2012 Generations of Faith.
Service Projects:
Part of the confirmation process includes service projects. During the summer, you might want to try to get some of these done! You will complete the following:
Two parish projects: anything here at St. Mary’s—this could include serving coffee/donuts after Mass, being a commentator, helping with Vacation Bible School, Mystery Service Trip, playing an instrument at Mass
Two family projects: doing anything for any member of your family (including extended family) in which you do not get paid
One community project: doing something for the community or a neighbor, again not getting paid, mowing the lawn for a neighbor, helping with a sporting concession stand, etc
