A new model is being implemented for capital improvements and making major decisions
Current LED light conversion is being used as a test case
Trying to use a more holistic approach by getting all information together first before spending a great deal of time discussing the project
Follow through for the entire process should help to make better decisions
Offertory is up on our budget and over last year
Expenses are also in line with expectations
The committee is also beginning to take a look at the budget for next fiscal year
Drop again this year for GOF numbers
Father asked the office what we should do with this information. Group wants to give it one more shot since this is the first time many have been through the process
Goal will be to simplify the registration process
Calendar is set and going to begin “recruiting” this spring to get an early start
Trying to help parents become teachers of faith for their families
Space is a potential concern if we do look at switching faith formation models
Office is trying to go back and collect GOF from families who haven’t paid yet. This was supposed to happen earlier but apparently it fell through the cracks
Pointed out that GOF numbers are about 340 this year after being almost 600 five years ago even through parishioner count is higher
One challenge is time frame where next year calendar is already being worked on. Decisions need to be made earlier in the year to make major changes to the plan rather than now. This is something to keep in mind for next year when we revisit
Review of Information Sharing
Father brought in examples of some of the ways the parish gives information to parishioners and asked for positives and negatives for each
Newsletter (3x per year)
Dates seem very spread out. Maybe some sort of summary?
It is an easy read
Early plug for upcoming activities is helpful
Comment that newsletter is overall very helpful
Picture of baptisms and weddings is much appreciated to keep people up to speed with news in the parish
Enjoy the calendar section
Effectiveness of having a cut-out for registration?
Should we include financial information every week? Is this misleading due to timing of some gifts?
Maybe look at rotating this section with other areas of stewardship to give progress in these areas?
Dawn/Ted/Dave have terms that are up at the end of the year. Maybe one more as we are currently short a spot?
March 1st begin collecting names. Information will go out in bulletin
May 14/15 would be elections. Information for bios of candidates would be due the prior week.
This would be for pastoral council and faith formation open positions
Think about encouraging others to serve
Each member try to talk to two people
Maybe try to come up with a youth representative as well?
Staff evaluations are getting ready to get started
Encouragement of finance committee to keep strategic focus when completing the budget for next year
